1. International Democracy Day (22-9-2023)
The Department celebrated international Democracy day. On this occasion students read and took oath the preamble of Indian constitution. According to the United Nations this year’s theme, ‘Empowering the next generation, focuses on the essential role of young people in advancing democracy and ensuring that their voices are included in the decision making . Assistant Professor Jaswinder Kaur enlightened the students about working and problems of Indian democracy .
2.Gandhi jayanti celebration (29-9-2023)
The Department celebrated ‘Gandhi Jayanti. The department organized poem recitation and speech competition about Gandhiji‘s life and teachings. In this event, Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Assistant professor in political science enlightened the students about Gandhji’s ideology of non violence, civil disobedience, and Satyagraha.
3.Constitution Day (26-10-2023)
The Department celebrated Constitution Day. On this occasion group discussion of students were held on Unitary and federal features of Indian constitution. Students expressed their different views on features of Indian constitution.
The Department organized slogan writing competition on human rights. Assistant Professor Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur of political science enlightened the students about the declaration of UNO on human rights. Students made different slogan related to human rights.
The Department Organized poster making competition. The students were given information about regional and national political parties. On this occasion the Assistant Prof. Jaswinder Kaur enlightened the students about how political parties contest elections and come into power and how influenced the voters in their favour. Jaismeen, Suvekhsa secured 1st ,and 2ndposition Sapna and Astha secured 3rd position in this competition .
